How to swap tokens across chains

A main product of Linear Finance, Swap is a service that allows users to swap Liquids, LINA, or ℓUSD across different blockchains in a cost-effective manner. This built-in cross-chain functionality maintains a high level of compostability and connectivity across DeFi ecosystems. Let’s dive into how users can go about using Linear Swap.

Fortunately, Swap is extremely straightforward to use. Using the top bar on the home page, click on the ‘Swap’ tab which will take you to the page below, and proceed to launch swap.

Having launched Swap, you will be taken to the Buildr homepage. Using the top bar once again, click on the Swap tab as seen below. As per the instructions, all you need to do is select the type of Linear’s tokens (LINA, ℓUSD, and Liquids) and amount to swap between Ethereum (ERC-20) and Binance Smart Chain (BEP20). In the future, Polkadot will also be an option once integrated with our platform.

However, for the transaction to be successful, users need both ETH and BNB to pay for gas fees on their respective chains. Users will be instructed by Buildr to change between the Ethereum mainnet and BSC mainnet to sign the confirmation transactions and complete the swap.

We specifically integrated the swap functionality into the stake and build transaction feature in Buildr so that users can bring LINA into Buildr, press build, and automatically swap LINA from ERC-20 format to BEP-20 with ease. Then, users can stake and build ℓUSD on BSC.
